The Story Behind SecureX Lab

SecureX Lab was founded in 2024 by Prabin Uprety, a full-stack developer and cybersecurity researcher based in Birtamode-4, Jhapa, Nepal. The journey started with a simple observation: while the world had countless free online tools, almost none of them accounted for the specific needs of Nepali users.

During his early career working on enterprise software projects across Kathmandu and the Terai, Prabin repeatedly encountered the same frustrations: documents that couldn't be converted safely, date formats that didn't match Nepali business needs, and tools that required uploading sensitive data to foreign servers with no transparency. These weren't just inconveniences — they were real security and productivity problems.

So he started building. First came the Preeti-to-Unicode converter, used by local newsrooms. Then the Bikram Sambat date converter, essential for government forms and legal documents. What began as personal utilities grew into a suite of 20+ free tools serving over 10,000 monthly users across Nepal, India, and the global Nepali diaspora.
